Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this weekend? With Phoenix ranking 6th city overall, there’s always an endless array of activities! Here are some of our favorite options, perfect for adventurous family.
Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo is a serious crowd pleaser, appealing to both young and old patrons. Who doesn’t need a little more lion in their lives? You’ll also want to make sure to check out the expansive reptile exhibit – this species is somewhat of a specialty out here in the desert!
Kids between the ages of 3-12 enjoy $10 admittance, adults for $20. While this might be on the pricier side, keep in mind the money goes to support maintaining the animals!
Visit a Bookstore
When was the last time you visited a book store? If you haven’t been in some time, rediscover the joy of finding the perfect read. Virtually every bookstore has amazing sections geared toward kids – it’s an awesome feeling seeing your children foster an early love for literature. Adults who love their coffee can also grab a caffeine fix in the café.
Trip to the Park
The summer heat can force a lot of us indoors during those sweltering months, affecting our physical activity. Taking the family for a trip to the park can help – just make sure the sun has tucked itself away or you bring plenty of sunscreen.
There are tons of activities depending upon the park, be it tennis, volleyball or swimming. Parents know best: kids who expend their energy in the park are a lot easier to manage at home!
Take a Dip
What Arizona summer would be complete without the essential trip to the waterpark? Take a ride along the lazy river at Sunsplash or grab a board and boogie in the wave pool at Big Surf! There really is no better way to beat the heat with the whole family.
